How to create a Pub Whisperer/Whisperer Team for your local community.
This is a simple 6-step checklist to getting your local Pub Whisperer/Whisperer Team started in your community.
1. Decide what structure you want to set up: Pub Whisperer Team or a Whisperer Team.
2. Get all members to complete suicide prevention training. This may involve making an investment of $$. We suggest Blackdog Institute's online Recognise and Respond program found here. It takes about an hour to complete.
3. Download the files from The Whisperer Team (below point 6.), and place them in a folder for quick reference.

4. Purchase GLASS EMPTY coasters and coaster holders for your venue/local venue here.
5. Get in touch with support by emailing jono (at) thewhispererteam.org to be put on The Whisperer Team map.
6. (Optional but recommended) Set up a "Get Real" Gathering for Whisperers to share their journey and practice dropping into vulnerability, holding space for others and practice active listening.

- A Pub Whisperer Team has the publican and/or bar staff trained in suicide prevention training.
- A Whisperer Team involves the publican and/or bar staff and community members "Community Whisperers" to step in when someone shows signs of suicide distress.

- The Good Samaritan Laws.
- The Aldinga Mental Health Resource List (for you to emulate with local and national services for your community).
- Whisperers Ringing 000 document.
- Group Sharing Protocals (For Get Real Gatherings).
- How Am I Check In (For Get Real Gatherings).
